Mossman
Gorge / Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime Walks
Mossman gorge is one of the most popular visitor spots
in the Wet Tropics. The crystal clear water cascading over smooth
granite boulders that line the gorge, make this one of the most
picturesque section in the Daintree National Park. Walk as far as
the suspension bridge across the river or explore the 2.7klm rainforest
loop.
The Gorge is home to the Kuku Yalanji people, the area’s traditional
aboriginal land owners. Kuku Yalanji guides will take you on a 1 ½
hour walk through pristine rainforest including cave paintings and
special sites. After the walk, tea and fire cooked damper is served
under bark shelters. There is Aboriginal artifacts on display and
are for sale in the shop & art gallery.
